The Passionate People Behind Our Business
Stark Drilling was formed in August 2017 and began operations in October the same year, heading directly to a 20,000-metre project at Wollogorang in the Northern Territory.
Stark Drilling was formed primarily from a realization of 18 months research by the Managing Director Courtney Henness. With over 30 years’ of experience in the drilling industry, Courtney realised that the time-based knowledge, safe operating practices, training techniques and client satisfaction that had been the basis of his successful career were not being delivered.
Having experienced the gold crash in the 90’s and various financial crashes in recent years which had devastating effects on the drilling industry, it became apparent that there was a need for a service provider who above all else demanded the highest expectations in both quality and safety at all times, a provider who did not expect this knowledge to come at a premium price.
Stark Drilling is proving that regardless of project size, location or requirements that it can be done Safely, Cost-Effectively and to the Highest Standards.

Stark Drilling Partners with Community-Based Organisations
We are also working with Community-based schemes and Organisations such as the AMHC (Aboriginal Men’s Healing Centre) in Newman, to provide opportunities and support for families who have suffered from Domestic Violence. By offering Job Placement, Skills Training and the support of a Small Family Owned business in a positive team environment, we are working together to break the cycle and raise awareness.
